Terms of Service

Otam is a private gifting platform: you collect voice notes, videos, and written Shout Outs from people who matter to someone, review them, and deliver them together as one Gift. It is not a public social network — there is no public feed, follower count, or discovery of other people's Gifts.

You're responsible for the information you provide when creating an account and for activity that happens through your account. If you believe your account or your personal sign-in link has been compromised, generate a new sign-in link from your Circle page — this immediately invalidates the old one.

You own the Shout Outs, voice recordings, and video recordings you submit. Otam does not claim ownership of your content. By submitting content to a Gift, you give Otam the limited permission needed to store it, process it (for example, generating a playable preview), transmit it, and display it to the people the Gift is meant for — its creator during moderation, and its recipient once revealed.

You agree not to use Otam to submit or distribute content that:

• Bullies, harasses, or threatens another person.
• Is hateful or discriminatory.
• Is sexual or otherwise inappropriate, especially given that Gifts and their contributions are not age-gated.
• Is illegal, or infringes someone else's rights.
• Impersonates another person.
• Is spam or unsolicited promotional content.
• Contains malware or attempts to interfere with the service.

You also agree not to abuse contribution or Reveal links — for example, by attempting to guess links you weren't given, or by using a link you were given for anything other than its intended purpose.

Every contribution is reviewed by the Gift's creator before it can be included in the Reveal; this review is manual, not automated or AI-driven. Separately, Otam may remove content, restrict a link, or restrict access to the service where we reasonably believe it's necessary to protect the service, its users, or comply with the law.

Contribution links and Reveal links grant real capabilities to whoever holds them. You're responsible for who you share them with. If a link is shared more widely than intended, the Gift's creator can regenerate it from the Gift's management page, which immediately invalidates the old link.

We work to keep Otam available and reliable, but we don't promise uninterrupted access. The service may be unavailable at times for maintenance, technical issues, or reasons outside our control.

You own the content you submit, as described above. Otam owns the Otam platform, software, and branding. Nothing in these Terms transfers that ownership to you.

Otam is provided as-is. To the extent permitted by law, Otam is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Nothing here is intended to limit liability in ways not permitted under the law that applies to you.

You can delete your account at any time from your Circle page. What happens to your data when you do is described in full in our Privacy Policy. We may also suspend or terminate access to your account if we reasonably believe you've violated these Terms.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Continued use of Otam after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
